Volcanic Mountain

Mount McKinley (Denali) (6194 m) is the highest in North America with active volcanoes and Meylspin glaciers. The National Denali Park, situated in the vicinity of McKinley, adds up to the highest US Mountains’ reputation. In 1912, the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes appeared preceded by a volcano eruption. Upstate areas are covered by the tundra. Further south there are forests. As part of the state, the island of Little Diomede (Krusenstern Island) in the Bering Strait is located at a distance of 4 km from the Russia-owned island of Great Diomede (Fr. Ratmanov).
On the Pacific coast the climate is temperate, marine, relatively mild, and the rest of the territories are characterized by the Arctic and subarctic continental climate with severe winters. Volcanic Mountain is always challenging.
